ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nizamova Ekaterina was born in the Krasnodar region. At the age of 16 she moved to St. Petersburg.
Although Ekaterina has been engaged in creativity since early childhood and during her school years, until 2014 she didn't choose artistic career as her main one.
Ekaterina received a specialized education at the College of Social and Economic Development at the State University Higher School of Economics with a degree in finance and credit, and in 2010 she graduated from the State University of Service and Economics with a degree in management, after graduation she worked as a senior manager.
In 2014, Ekaterina decided to focus on her artistic career. The next step for her was getting additional education in art: Ekaterina studied at the Synergy Art Academy, took a large number of master classes and lessons in painting, art history, attended lectures and took online courses. In 2021-2022, she participated in the GetArtFit residency. In 2018, she decided to become a full-time artist.
At the beginning of her career, Ekaterina worked in the techniques of liquid acrylic, epoxy resin and alcohol ink. She sold paintings all over the world, collaborated with designers.
In 2019, one of the works won the competition of the NewArtFest festival, Sochi, and was exhibited there. Also, since 2019, she has been teaching liquid techniques in her studio. In 2020-2021, she completely switched to oil painting.
In April 2022, she took part in a group exhibition based on the results of the GetArtFit residence at the One’s mind contemporary art gallery in Saint-Petersburg.
In January 2023 Ekaterina moved to Spain. Now she is living and working there.
